ROAD CLOSURE: The Arizona Department of Transportation will partially close Interstate 10, Loop 101, Loop 202 and State Route 51 beginning Friday evening, with all restrictions set to lift by 5 a.m. Monday, ADOT announced and Arizona's Family reported.

The largest single closure hits eastbound I-10 between 99th Avenue and 75th Avenue in west Phoenix, shutting down at 9 p.m. Friday for an interchange improvement project. The southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10 and the eastbound I-10 on-ramp from Avondale Boulevard close with it. ADOT lists eastbound Buckeye Road or McDowell Road as detour options.

On Loop 101, the Agua Fria Freeway westbound closes from 51st to 75th avenues in the northwest Valley at 10 p.m. Friday for a widening project. On-ramps from 27th and 35th avenues will also be closed; Union Hills Drive or Bell Road are the suggested alternates.

In the East Valley, Loop 202 Santan Freeway eastbound closes between Price Road and Arizona Avenue in Chandler at 10 p.m. Friday for widening. Eastbound Chandler Boulevard, Frye Road, Germann Road, or eastbound U.S. 60 are listed as alternates. Separately, westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain ramps to both directions of Loop 101 close at 8 p.m. Friday in the Tempe area for pavement improvement, with the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Dobson Road also shutting. ADOT suggests southbound Dobson Road to westbound Rio Salado Parkway or northbound Alma School Road to westbound McKellips Road.

On SR 51, crews will narrow the freeway to two lanes from Shea Boulevard to Northern Avenue beginning 9 p.m. Friday, closing right lanes for pavement work. Southbound on- and off-ramps in that stretch will close at times; drivers can use Cactus Road ramps when Shea ramps are closed and Glendale Avenue ramps when Northern Avenue ramps are closed. ADOT lists I-17 as a freeway alternate for SR 51 users.

All restrictions are scheduled to clear by 5 a.m. Monday.
