Arizona State University's Counselor Training Center is now booking psychological assessments for autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, and learning disorders at its ASU Polytechnic campus location in Mesa, with prices starting at $400, roughly one-ninth the local private-market rate.

The program, open to individuals ages 8 and older, charges $400 for a standalone ADHD evaluation and $600 for combined ADHD-and-learning-disorder or autism spectrum assessments. Comparable evaluations in the local market average approximately $3,500, according to the Greater Phoenix Chamber announcement.

Each package covers three appointments: a one-hour intake, a comprehensive assessment session lasting three to six hours, and a one-hour feedback session. Clients receive a written report that, with their permission, may be shared with schools, employers, and disability service agencies to support accommodations and educational planning.

Assessments are conducted by doctoral student clinicians who have completed required training and work under licensed faculty supervision throughout the process. As part of the supervised learning environment, clients provide informed consent acknowledging that sessions may be observed or recorded; those who decline recording are referred to another provider.

"Psychological assessments can be life changing, but they are often financially out of reach for many individuals and families," said Jamie Bludworth, Ph.D., director of the Counselor Training Center and clinical professor in ASU's School of Counseling and Counseling Psychology. "Our goal is to make these evaluations more accessible while providing our doctoral students with the clinical experiences they need."

The CTC's existing free and low-cost counseling services continue at its Tempe location. Arizona college students may receive counseling at no cost each semester; ASU faculty and staff pay $80 per semester, and other Arizona adults pay $100.

Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties can book at cisa.asu.edu/ctc, email ctc@asu.edu, or call 480-965-5067.
