Two Valley men have been arrested in connection with a July 3 crash on Forest Service Road 330 in Forest Lakes that killed a 17-year-old, the Coconino County Sheriff's Office announced Friday.

Deputies arrested Carter Travis, 19, of Glendale on Aug. 28. He faces charges of second-degree homicide, three counts of aggravated assault, felony endangerment, and other DUI-related charges. The following day, authorities arrested Joseph Ohlendorf, 25, of Tempe on charges of manslaughter and four counts of furnishing alcohol to minors.

The sheriff's office said detectives conducted interviews, reviewed available evidence, obtained records, and worked with the Arizona Department of Public Safety to obtain additional vehicle data. "The investigation ultimately identified evidence supporting criminal charges against two individuals," the department wrote in its announcement.

The teen has not been publicly identified. Investigators have not disclosed exactly how the 17-year-old died, what role each suspect played in the crash, or whether the teen was a driver or passenger.

Arizona's Family first reported the arrests Friday. Charges against both men remain allegations; neither has been adjudicated.
