Anthony Mead, 55, will serve 10 years in prison after a January 2024 search of his Phoenix home turned up more than 11,400 fentanyl pills, 4.1 pounds of methamphetamine, 40 grams of DMT, four firearms and $36,028 in cash, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes announced Monday.

Investigators first identified Mead as a suspect in a drug trafficking investigation in September 2023. His arrest at his Phoenix home followed on Jan. 10, 2024. Alongside the drugs and weapons, agents recovered money counters and drug packaging materials.

Mead pleaded guilty to a felony count of possession of a dangerous drug for sale and a felony count of misconduct involving weapons. Prosecutors noted his criminal record includes previous convictions for selling dangerous drugs stretching back to the 1990s.

"Illicit drugs have no place in Arizona communities," Mayes said in a written statement. "We will keep working with our federal and local law enforcement partners to get dangerous drug traffickers off the streets and hold them accountable."
