Highlights

Top Fuel Espresso has signed a lease near McKellips and Lindsay roads in Mesa, bringing the Arizona drive-thru coffee chain to four Valley locations and its second footprint in the city.

The new store features a double-lane drive-thru and carries the chain's signature "1968" espresso blend, according to KTAR. Top Fuel's existing Mesa location sits just off the U.S. 60 and Dobson Road interchange. The other two stores are in Tempe and Gilbert.

Founder Jessica Denison started the brand in 2017 at an Apache Junction farmer's market. Denison, a former junior drag racer, built the chain around a motorsports identity that runs through the menu: specialty drinks include the Pomona (caramel, macadamia nut, white mocha) and the Rocky Mountain (caramel, marshmallow, mocha). The menu also covers hot, iced and blended coffees, soda mixers, tea, energy drinks, smoothies, protein shakes, bagels and breakfast sandwiches.

Western Retail Advisors has brokered every Top Fuel lease to date. Broker Darrell Deshaw said in a press release quoted by KTAR that the firm continues to evaluate new sites for further expansion.

The McKellips location is open 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The opening was also reported by Mouth by Southwest and corroborated by a Mesa Chamber of Commerce listing.
